1. Why did you decide to come study in Japan and choose Chukyo University?

My will to study in Japan stems from the intention to deepen my knowledge in my major field in Japanese Language and Culture. It goes without saying that I originally thought that this experience would help me improve my Japanese language skills and discover the Japanese daily life.

2. How do you think you have matured through your studies at Chukyo? Please share your experiences, events, or feelings while studying at Chukyo University.

Outside the classroom, my involvement in extracurricular activities has been really significant. Participating in the cultural events organized by the GEC staff and the VOICE members, such as the day-trips to Nagoya Castle and Inuyama, helped me build lasting friendships, which have been a source of support and inspiration also for my personal growth. Moving away from home and managing my responsibilities has allowed me to grow in ways that extend beyond academics. I’ve faced moments of doubt, but overcoming them has made me more resilient. These challenges have taught me how to balance my studies and social life. I am also grateful to the VOICE members and my buddy for all the valuable help they offered me during this time.

3. How do you hope to make use of this experience in the future?

This abroad study program helped me understand how the Japanese academic system works and face my weaknesses and strengths in speaking and understanding Japanese. All this unlocked me the possibility of continuing my formation in Japan with the intention of enrolling in a Japanese graduate school in the future.

4. Finally, please give a message to juniors who are considering studying at Chukyo University in the future.

Do not be scared of trying new things and experiences, do not be shy to speak as much as possible with natives and hang out with your friends whenever you have the chance to. Also, trust your Japanese teachers and do not change your Japanese language level.
