Event Report: Orientation Week Spring 2026
A Warm Welcome: Building Friendships from Day One
In late March, the Global Experience Center hosted an "Orientation Week" to warmly welcome 40 new exchange students for the spring semester. Our international student organization, VOICE, played an instrumental role in ensuring a smooth transition, offering essential assistance with course registration and residency procedures.
Beyond these logistics, VOICE organized an exciting lineup of events, including student-led tours of our Nagoya and Toyota campuses, immersive cultural experiences – such as a traditional tea ceremony at Yagoto Koshoji and a fun, local-style Ennichi (traditional festival) – and excursions to local landmarks like Nagoya Castle and the Osu district. These activities provided the perfect backdrop for our new arrivals to bond with VOICE members and Chukyo University students, sparking friendships that transcend borders. It was especially inspiring to see 13 students from the previous autumn cohort stepping into mentor roles, demonstrating their growth as they warmly embraced their new peers and fostered a truly inclusive community where students learn and grow together.
