Event Report: Welcome Party 4/12/24
Welcome to Chukyo! International Students 2024 Spring
The Global Education Center held a Welcome Party for International Students on April 12th, organized by the student volunteer group “VOICE,” which promotes international exchange on campus. One hundred fourteen participants included international students from various countries, such as the U.S., Italy, China, Korea, Vietnam, and others, and Japanese students eager to engage in intercultural exchange activities.
The event was conducted in both English and Japanese. Initially, the participants appeared a little apprehensive, but as the event progressed, they began to interact with each other more comfortably. During the "Koryu Bingo" game, participants had to find a partner who matched a theme, get a signature, and line up the squares. Some even challenged each other to arm-wrestling and “AcchiMuiteHoi -Look at there-.”
A student from the United States smiled and said, "I've only been in Japan for a month, but I have already made friends and exchanged contact information." Meanwhile, a Japanese student who had returned to Japan after studying abroad in Australia commented, "I participated in this event because I wanted to have an opportunity to interact with people after studying abroad. It was a lot of fun."
