Global Connection: Building Friendships Beyond Borders on Campus in Spring 2026!
The Global Experience Center recently hosted two exciting events—the English Conversation Workshop and the Cross-Cultural Exchange Classes—to foster international friendships and create a vibrant, multicultural campus life for both Chukyo University and exchange students.
English Conversation Workshop: Learning Practical Phrases with Native Speakers
Held on Friday, May 15, this interactive workshop attracted 33 enthusiastic participants. Guided by native-speaking instructors, students explored topics like making new friends and using social media in English.
This workshop is perfect for students who want to:
* Boost English communication skills for future travel or study abroad.
* Explore diverse global cultures and experience real-world English on campus.
While some students were initially a bit nervous, the welcoming atmosphere and engaging group activities quickly broke the ice. The room was soon filled with laughter and lively discussions as students practiced real-world communication skills.
Intercultural Communication Workshop: Collaborative Fun with International Students
On May 13 and May 27, the center hosted a series of collaborative workshops where Chukyo University students and exchange students teamed up for pair and group work. A total of 104 students participated in four uniquely designed cultural themes:
* Guiding Friends Through Ghibli Park: Exploring the magic of Japan's famous animation culture.
* Planning the Ultimate Nagoya Tour: Discovering local hidden gems and historic spots.
* Sports Around the World: Sharing passions for global games and athletics.
* Looking at Japan from a Global Perspective: Exchanging fresh insights and cultural viewpoints.
The venue was buzzing with energy! Students completed fun challenges while experiencing the beauty of diverse values and perspectives firsthand.
At the Global Experience Center, these workshops are just the beginning. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive, lively environment where international and Chukyo University students can connect, learn from each other, and build lifelong friendships.
