1. Why did you decide to come study in Japan and choose Chukyo University?
I decided to study in Japan because it fits perfectly with my academic path, as my major is Japanese. I love the country’s culture and history, and being able to live and study here for a year is a real opportunity.
Originally, Chukyo wasn’t on my list of preferred destinations in Japan, but I’m really happy to have been accepted because it’s a great university.
2. How do you think you have matured through your studies at Chukyo? Please share your experiences, events, or feelings while studying at Chukyo University.
Being a student at Chukyo has first of all allowed me to meet many new people and make friends, both international and Japanese. The presence of the VOICE student group has been amazing and gave us the opportunity to take part in many activities and events related to Japanese culture.
3. How do you hope to make use of this experience in the future?
My academic year at Chukyo has been a real asset, not only for my resume, but also for my Japanese skills, which have improved significantly since the beginning of the year. I’m glad I took the opportunity to study abroad, and it has inspired me to continue on this path by applying for a Master’s degree abroad!
4. Finally, please give a message to juniors who are considering studying at Chukyo University in the future.
I think Chukyo is an amazing university for anyone who wants to discover and study in Japan. The classes are very interesting and the teachers are passionate about what they do. If you want to explore Japanese culture and take part in many fun activities, I highly recommend joining the events organized by the Japanese student group VOICE ? they’re always very dedicated and welcoming.
There are also many sports you can try on campus, and if you like volleyball, you should definitely give it a try! The Japanese language courses are great and really help you improve.
Chukyo University wasn’t one of my original choices, but I’m truly happy to be studying here. So if you’re thinking about coming to Japan, I definitely recommend choosing Chukyo University in Nagoya as you’ll have a great time here!
Make the most of your time by going out with friends, enjoy going to izakayas, singing at karaoke, shopping in Osu, or attending baseball games!
