Event Report: Tokoname Bus Tour 7/19
Exchange Students Experience Local Industry and Culture on the "Tokoname Bus Tour"
On July 19th, the Global Education Center organized the "Tokoname Bus Tour," allowing exchange students and Chukyo University students to gain a deeper understanding of local industry and culture. A total of 33 participants joined the tour, including 13 exchange students and 20 Chukyo students.
During the tour, participants visited the INAX Live Museum, where they explored the culture of toilets and the craftsmanship of Tokoname. They also took part in a workshop in a studio, creating photo frames using colorful mosaic tiles. In the evening, the group headed to Centrair to participate in the "Centrair Bon Odori," which was held on the Sky Deck.
The international exchange volunteer group "VOICE," which led the tour, had previously conducted a Bon Odori lecture for the exchange students and assisted them in wearing yukatas on the day of the event. One exchange student shared their experience, saying, "The memory of dancing the Bon Odori with my friends from Japan and other international students on the airport deck, surrounded by beautiful music and scenery, was so moving that it brought me to tears." It seems that the mosaic tile photo frame, which served as a souvenir from the tour, has become a cherished memory of their summer in Japan.
